T I P S | TESTING

​The SMASH (Systems, Materials and Structural Health) Lab at Utah State University "Double Shear" testing in 2019 initially validated the structural integrity of our connecting diagonal truss wire system stating, "the maximum strength per a 2ft x 2ft section of panel can resist an average of 9.4 kips shear force (each connecting wire) with a COV of 4.6%​".

SMASH LAB TESTING REPORT

PCI: We anticipate the Precast Concrete Institute will be finalizing "Double Shear" testing on T I P S in 2023.

​TCA: While the testing was under the tilt-wall umbrella, the TCA's testing experience has applicability in the structural precast wall environment as well. The testing clearly demonstrated:

• T I P S as a fully composite panel.
• A concrete wall panel built with T I P S (4" eps foam core with 9 ga. diagonal truss wire welded to 2x2 11ga mesh) performs the same as a panel made entirely of concrete and can be designed using typical "slender wall" parameters. ​
